Restoring Kindness Canada
Michael Asadoorian - May 09, 2025
What brings you the most stress? For most people, it is money...but if we dig a little deeper, it might actually be the fear of not being able to put food on the table for you or your family. As of 2023, food insecurity in Ontario has reached critical levels. According to Public Health Ontario, approximately 16% of households—equating to about 2.34 million people—experience food insecurity, meaning they cannot afford nutritious food on a regular basis. Worst of all, this affects 1 in 5 children.
This May, in honour of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are stepping up to support families in our local Pickering community through the Restoring Kindness Canada initiative. For more information, see the link below:

We’re collecting non-perishable food items, and for every item donated, we will make a $5 donation—because kindness isn’t just about giving, it’s about multiplying impact.
If you'd like to help, please drop items at our office (Suite 150 - 1101 Kingston Road, Pickering) during the hours of 9:00am to 4:30pm (Monday through Thursday). List of needs in priority:
- Dry Beans (chickpeas, red kidney, mung)
- Juice
- Pancake Mix
- Maple Syrup
- Lentils
- Cookies
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Meats (salmon, chicken, ham)
- Sardines
Food insecurity doesn’t just affect the stomach—it affects the mind, the stress levels, the whole household.
So let’s restore dignity. Let’s restore peace of mind.
Let’s pay it forward—with food, with compassion, and with action.
