Movember...Walking For The Weight We Don't Talk About

Michael Asadoorian - Nov 07, 2025

For Movember this year, Michael and his brother are raising funds again...for the 15th year in a row. One thing is different though, Michael is stepping it up with a physical challenge, he is walking 60 kilometers with 30 pounds in his backback. Why? Because that extra weight isn’t just physical—it’s symbolic. Every one of us is carrying something: stress, pressure, responsibilities we don’t talk about.

Movember shines a light on the things men often keep in the dark—prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. And sometimes, the heaviest burdens aren’t visible at all.

Checkups, Conversations, and Carrying On

Movember has always been about more than facial hair. It’s about early action. Especially when it comes to prostate cancer.

Here’s the truth: early detection saves lives. Getting checked, even when you feel fine, is a powerful choice. Because knowledge is power—and silence helps no one.

This month is about reminding each other that our health—mental and physical—deserves attention. Carrying the weight is hard. Doing it alone is harder.

Whether it’s a doctor’s appointment you’ve been putting off, or a tough conversation you’ve avoided—consider this your nudge.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to start.

Let’s Lighten the Load, Together
